Dr. Serajul I. Bhuiyan

Dr. Serajul I. Bhuiyan is Professor and Former Chair of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications at Savannah State University, Georgia, USA. An internationally recognized scholar, journalist, educator, and academic leader, he brings more than three decades of distinguished experience in higher education, strategic communication, journalism, business education, and global academic administration across the United States, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe.

 

Dr. Bhuiyan earned his Ph.D. in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an MBA from Texas A&M University–Texarkana. His interdisciplinary scholarship encompasses journalism, strategic communication, misinformation and disinformation, media ethics, leadership, higher education, public diplomacy, and international affairs. He has authored and edited numerous scholarly publications and is a widely respected commentator and columnist on global and South Asian political, economic, and communication issues, with articles appearing in leading academic journals and international media outlets.

 

He served as President of the Business and Applied Sciences Academy of North America (BAASANA), where he champions interdisciplinary research, academic excellence, ethical leadership, and international scholarly collaboration. Through his teaching, research, and public engagement, Dr. Bhuiyan continues to foster informed global dialogue on media, governance, sustainable development, and public policy.

 

Throughout his distinguished journalism career, Dr. Bhuiyan has conducted exclusive interviews with some of the world's most influential leaders, including former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, with his work published in leading newspapers and media organizations in the United States and Kuwait.
