Recently, Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner in Pakistan, praised the Pakistan Army for its unwavering commitment and sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism. Terrorist groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP) and others are present in Afghanistan, she said, posing a severe danger to the whole region’s stability. Marriott stressed the significance of the United Kingdom and Pakistan maintaining their relationship in the fight against terrorism and extremism and working together to secure the region’s long-term peace and safety. The United Kingdom reiterated its commitment to stand with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and pursue better and safer living conditions for all Pakistanis. The significance of Pakistan and its armed forces in the fight against terrorism worldwide is emphasized. British support for Pakistan’s efforts to foster regional peace and stability is reaffirmed.

Marriot stressed that the long-term stability of the area depends on the United Kingdom and Pakistan working together to tackle terrorism and extremism. Marriott went on to say that International Action Group (IAG) should do something about these terrorist groups since they threaten Pakistan and the entire world. The importance of Pakistan as a counterterrorism partner is emphasized in this remark. The UK’s unflinching backing for Pakistan’s efforts to maintain regional stability is reaffirmed.

The IAG has issued a clarification appeal in response to the recent remark by the British High Commissioner for Pakistan on the presence of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TPP). Pakistan has been urging the IAG for a long time to take a stance on this matter, but its requests have been consistently ignored. It would be futile for the IAG to issue comments denying the TTP’s existence or actions in Afghanistan. The International Action Group (IAG) has to take decisive action against these organizations because they threaten the world. Promoting long-term peace and security is crucial in light of the area’s current situation and existing realities, and any uncertainty or lack of action on the part of the IAG would be counterproductive. The United Kingdom’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s efforts to uphold peace and stability in the region serves as a reminder of how serious this issue is.

In Doha, all parties recently engaged in dialogue with the Taliban. Concerns about the humanitarian status of half of Afghanistan have been raised, notably the lack of rights for children and women. Negotiations with the Taliban administration to ameliorate the situation will continue. According to reports, Afghanistan’s security situation has improved since the Taliban’s entrance. Taliban attacks on Afghan security forces and civilians had already worsened the situation. It is worth remembering that under the Taliban administration, the production of heroin, which was responsible for the deaths of many young people worldwide, dropped dramatically. This is worthy of recognition and praise. The fight against extremism and terrorism in Pakistan has progressed significantly. Terrorism Index in Pakistan decreased to 7.83 in 2021 from 7.92 in 2022 fewer deaths in Pakistan than previous years. The number of outlawed groups in the country has dropped dramatically due to the government’s efforts to cut off their funding. Terrorist attacks and sectarian bloodshed have decreased dramatically due to the government’s National Action Plan. However, the country still faces challenges before successfully eradicating extremism and radicalization. Pakistan must keep working towards a more secure and peaceful future for its people and the region.

In conclusion, the number of terrorist attacks and deaths has drastically dropped due to Pakistan’s efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. The country, however, must keep up its fight to root out extremism and radicalization. Pakistan must ensure the safety and tranquility of its citizens and the surrounding area. Recognition and peace efforts in Afghanistan are hindered by the presence of the TTP and other terrorist organizations, which the International Alliance against Terrorism must accept. A concerted effort is needed to wipe out terrorism and make the globe safe for everyone.
