Two books have been launched at Griffith University, Australia on 14 October 2021. Editors of the volumes include: Dr Moazzem Hossain, former Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (SMR) Professorial Fellow of the University of Hull, UK and an Adjunct AP of Griffith University, Australia; Dr QK Ahmad, Chairman, Dhaka School of Economics, Dhaka University, Bangladesh; and Dr Mazharul Islam, Senior Research Fellow of the Bath University, UK. These three academics, respectively, are also Founding Chairman, Chief Patron and Founding Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Skill Enrichment and Technology (USET), Bangladesh. The launch was presided over by Professor Ian Hall, Research Director of Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University.

Bangladesh celebrates 50 years of independence in 2021. The two volumes being launched investigate the overall economic and social development of Bangladesh between 1996 and 2018. Out of the 22 years (1996-2018) the PM Sheikh Hasina governed Bangladesh for 15 years (three terms). Her consecutive two terms over 2009-18, however, brought a significant momentum to the economic growth and social change of Bangladesh. The volumes have been published by Springer Nature, Switzerland and Nova Science, NY, respectively. The books have been dedicated to  Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, in his 100th Birth Anniversary in 2020.

Bangladesh performed extraordinarily well in economic and social issues over 2000 and 2020. The table below shows some facts by the presenters in the launch. The launch was delivered face-to-face and via Microsoft Teams. The contributors and guests have been joined from all over Australia, UK, US, and Bangladesh. In the second part of the launch, a Q&A session was participated by Professor Rafiqul Islam of Macquarie University, Sydney, and Professor Antony Selvanathan of Griffith University, Brisbane. Both books are available from Amazon.
