Reporters without Borders says that Indian activists and journalists are being threatened, harassed, and imprisoned in long sentences. The political groups are damaging members of the opposition. United Nations experts agree that human rights-wise, the terrible situation in India will continue to be an issue. According to the U.S. Department of Justice Abuse Case, the worst factor to arrest was the increase in incidents of human rights violations, and appalling evidence that the people’s “democratic” ideals are declining. Execution without trial, torture, arrest without trial, or detention are all illegal. Moreover, the conduct is derived from the Hindutva theory, which encourages dominion and enslavement of others.
Obviously, when substantiated accusations of arbitrary killings, atrocities, and detainment emerge, a crime against the rule of law has been committed. The assault on political detainees, activists, and the press to suppress freedom of expression and quiet opposing arguments critical of the government the global community must be aware of the dangers facing India, and the Indian government must be held to account. According to United Nations experts, the action plan should be closely monitored to confirm that India is on the straight path, but additional steps are needed to prevent India from continuing down the road to full implementation. Many people throughout the world have high hopes for India’s independence. The global community must intervene to protect democratic values and fundamental human rights.
Freedom of speech is important for a society to work. It lets a lot of different kinds of people live together at peace. India has always been a place where people from different castes, faiths, and cultures can live together. Some groups, like the Hindutva philosophy, want to change that, though. They want to make people fight with each other and between groups. It might be the end of democracy in India if they succeed. There would be more violence and hate, and minorities would not be able to speak out. There could be a totalitarian government where people can’t speak out or disagree. Protecting diversity in India is very important. Democracy can’t last without it. To keep India’s democracy strong, we need to work for unity and respect.
