BUENOS AIRES: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Sultan – in the eye of a storm over the killing of US-based Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi – shortly after reaching the Argentine capital where they are attending the G-20 Summit.
In recent years, India and Saudi Arabia – which was earlier seen as being pro-Pakistan but has lately changed its stance – have become strategic partners and the relationship has expanded well beyond the Indian community to issues related to energy, security, economy and investment, all of which were discussed at the meeting.
A large Indian business delegation has just returned from Saudi Arabia where they went to tap opportunities in the huge infrastructure projects coming up in the kingdom in the coming years.
