Vishakha Wijenayake is a DCL candidate (Ph.D. equivalent) at Faculty of Law, McGill University where she is also an O'Brien Fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism. She was an associate at the legal division of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva and a legal adviser in the ICRC delegation in Sri Lanka. She has published in peer-reviewed and academic journals contributed to the State of Human Rights in Sri Lanka report and co-authored an investigative report on religious violence in Sri Lanka. She has also worked as a lecturer at the Department of Law, University of Jaffna, and a visiting lecturer at the University of Colombo. She completed her LLB (Hons) at the University of Colombo. She obtained her LLM from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, where she was a Fulbright scholar and a Hugo Grotius Fellow.
