Dr. Rakesh Kumar Patel is a young writer. After completing his post-graduation from Gorakhpur University he subsequently went to Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) for higher studies. He wrote his M.Phil. Dissertation titled “Representation of Indian Diaspora in Popular Hindi Cinema” and earned his Ph.D. degree from JNU. His writings on different social issues have been actively published in many renowned magazines and books. Apart from this, he also has an art of poetry and short story telling.
Founded in 2011, South Asia Journal (SAJ) is a policy magazine focused on issues relating to South Asia. Bearing no political affiliation, the journal’s goal is to provide discerning, critical perspectives on the South Asian sub-continent and its evolving relationship to the broader world. SAJ aims to highlight emerging regional trends, especially issues which call for more emphasis among decision makers and policy framers.
