Sugata Marjit
Professor Sugata Marjit, an award-winning Indian economist, is the former Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University, India, and currently the First Distinguished Professor of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in Kolkata. Prof Marjit has published extensively on contemporary economic issues. Prof. Marjit also worked closely with the Govt. of West Bengal as the Chairman of the State Higher Education Council, the senior-most advisory position of the Higher Education System in the state, and also as the Member of the State Public Policy and Planning Board, the official Think Tank of the State Govt. , from 2011-2021.
