    Hashim Wahdatyar is an Afghan Anayst based in Washington DC with over 15 years’ experience in regional cooperation, security, and peace in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Hashim served as spokesperson and managed United Nations Regional Program for Afghanistan and Neighboring Countries for almost a decade. In 2016, he moved to Washington DC and has been working with Think Tanks in various capacity, including Director at the Institute of Current World Affairs. He managed CIVIC's programs for Middle East and South Asia on civilians in conflict. He is an analyst on foreign policy, peace, and security, as well as a frequent commentator in media. Hashim’s opinion and pieces have appeared in The Diplomat, The Washington Post, Voice of America, Al Jazeera, BBC, and other major publications. Hashim holds an MA in international cooperation.
